Happy New Year to you all. I hope you have had a well – earned rest and enjoyed some good weather although I do think we are owed a bit more summer weather! I look forward to working with you this year. Please let me know if you would like me to start the ball rolling with no commitment if your plans change. I have had the chance to check on quite a few venues so will be writing blogs on them in the coming weeks.
Club Med – something a bit different at a good price
Club Med has put out very reasonable prices for next year. If you have the time for the longer plane ride this options works out to be very well priced as everything is included – that means activity training, conference costs ,airport transfers, day-care, entertainment spirits, cocktails, etc.
I have prices for Bali, Phuket, Guilin and Bintan Island. I am sure they will be willing to give a good price for any other Club Med destination. Let me know if this interests you.
The excitement of Queenstown
A lot of you have had a conference or incentive in Queenstown but there are always new activities being introduced and new restaurants opening or getting a new chef to add a new dimension to the area.
And if you have that very special occasion there are some amazing tailor made activities and places for you that are not on the usual list.
Every time I hold an event there I find something new whether it is an activity or a new venue.
All the suppliers are so willing and are very happy to work in with your requirements.
I look forward to hearing from you if you are at all interested in hearing what there is to do down there.
The Portage Resort, Marlborough Sounds
The Portage resort has the most stunning location overlooking the Marlborough Sounds and is the perfect place for a small to medium sized conference.
Cora and Stephan who are relatively new managers to the property are well known in the industry as being outstanding managers. They are a delight to work with, they go out of their way to customise your conference to the company’s requirements, and they and their staff work incredibly hard to make sure it all goes smoothly and that all expectations are met. Cora and Stephan have certainly not lost their touch!
In addition all the other operators – whether it be the water taxi, the team building company, the AV Company, the disco operator etc are so easy to work with and make it all so easy.
It really is a conference venue with a difference and even during the few bad weather days it is a fun and beautiful place for your meeting.
Riverhead
For those of you are not aware of Riverhead it really is a little gem. It is not far out of Auckland and if you time your meeting accordingly you can either go out or return by boat.
They have also just acquired a wonderful chef which is a great coup for them. Among his list of accomplishments – he was instrumental in opening up The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs and just latterly he has overseen the restaurants on Federal Street: Depot, The Sugar Club, Bellota Tapas bar, The Grand and others.
They have a lovely character meeting/dining room suitable for smaller numbers and then a couple of areas for larger numbers.
I am very happy to get a quote for you if you are interested.
Something different and a bit of fun.
Winter Special
Crowne Plaza Auckland has got an amazing day delegate rate for June and July. If you are interested let me know. They have a good selection of conference rooms and look after you very well. Here is a good opportunity for a mid-year meeting at a reasonable price.
Nelson
I have recently visited the Nelson region to re-acquaint myself and to find new venues in the area. The refurbished bedrooms at The Rutherford look great but the biggest transformation is the conference rooms. They have built new conference rooms which are amazing and of course purpose built with all that is required for an efficient meeting. With lots of natural light, a high ceiling and wonderful pre-function areas it must be one of the best in the country.
The Monaco Hotel is one of my favourites in the whole country styled after an English village so very unique. It is an extremely well run hotel with a good range of conference space. Without doubt the Honest Lawyer pub across the road is certainly an attractive neighbour for after conference relaxation!
As well as the 2 main hotels and several very well run motels there are numerous attractive and different places for outings and dinners.
For a unique small conference the Wilson’s Lodge at Torea Bay is in a stunning location and a wonderful spot for a small, casual meeting.
Winter conference deals.
I hope you all had a good Easter.
Now that Easter has been and gone the winter conference deals are coming in. Winter is a good time to conference. The prices are far more appealing and the staff have more time to look after you.
Please let me know if you are interested in some options for your winter conference or meeting.
As always the proposals are free of charge and you can decide to cancel at any stage with no charges incurred.
I look forward to hearing from you.
